Liberalização financeira e sistema bancário: possíveis paralelos entre Índia e Brasil

Resumo


O presente projeto de pesquisa visa explorar as trajetórias de reformas orientadas para o mercado na Índia e no Brasil na década de 1990 e estabelecer como elas alteraram os mecanismos de financiamento para o desenvolvimento. O foco é na forma como o processo de liberalização ocorreu no âmbito do sistema financeiro e na compreensão dos novos padrões de financiamento através da análise da trajetória dos bancos do setor público e das políticas regulatórias estatais que decorreram desse processo. O objetivo será mostrar que a abertura implicou ampliação da autoridade regulatória do Estado, com o surgimento de novas regras de supervisão e controle sobre o sistema financeiro bancário e de mercados de capitais, e avaliar as diferenças entre o padrão de coordenação Estatal do financiamento da Índia e do Brasil antes e após a crise financeira que atingiu os países emergentes entre 1997 e 1999.
